The concept of this painting had been in my mind from the very first day but the work on the canvas started three days back. Made on a gessoed canvas this one is textured beautifully (may not be visible in the picture). This painting shows two faces of a woman in the times of struggle. She may cry out rivers and be sad on her fate but that is no reason to underestimate her because she never gives in...In the times of crisis a woman always manages to be a real source of energy (depicted by the flames) and emerges triumphant every time. I call this one the Calm Fire (on suggestion of a friend from the Janes Monster Squad group on Facebook).

Inspired by a picture i saw on pintrest. Flowers made by fingers.

In India Owl is considered to be a dumb bird, but I don think it is correct to categorize anyone. This is an Owl but much wiser than any of us. The sanskrit shlokas on the body of this Owl can show us the correct path and can help us lead a better life. Thus he is truly the wise one.
This is my first ever presentable sketch. This is from a pic of the bird Blue Jay.
I was planning to do a Radha-Krishna painting on this canvas but by the time I finished it was completely different. This is a Bohemian Lady lost in her thoughts, happy or sad i can not say...

This one is an original too...This a set of three canvases that make sense only when put together. I have loved the concept forever, so couldn't resist the temptation of doing one myself. When u look closely u can see the word LOVE in the painting. The henna design on the left corner is done with a 3-D outliner. Also you can see the "I Love You" sign in the central canvas. What I really like in this painting is the texture and the color combination, though the finishing can definitely be better.
This one is an original, inspired by several paintings of Buddha i saw online. This one is a textured piece done by home made texture paste. (May be i will dedicate a post on how to make gesso and texture paste at home because the one i got from the shop was too expensive for my liking.) This was a difficult one. I had lots of trouble with the tree and also Buddha's face. But am really happy with the outcome.

My first painting on a gessoed canvas, done with a painting knife. Done alongside Jane Font. First experience with the painting knife was good enough. May be we can make it work.

This is my first ever painting on canvas. As far as i can remember its been around fifteen years since i painted anything. Husband motivated me to take up this art and Jane Font is the person who guided me from the start to the end. She is one of the best teachers i have met in my life. I hope this journey that i have started today never ends
